History: Continue research on the "Roaring twenties."

Reading: Read AR book on the subject of their project.

History: Continue research, complete fact sheet.

Bible: Pray for chapel, classmates, bring in Cambodian mission gift if possible.

Big assignments this week:
1. Memory verse quiz on Friday, Joshua 1:8-9-- "8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from
your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then
you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do
not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
2. Rough/rough draft due on 10/17. Written out 3 page outline and/or 10 note cards with biographical
information on their subject.

Class news:
Students have a written explanation of requirements and requests and
due dates for Celebrate America Day.
Celebrate America! Please send in a couple of old t-shirts for the girls. They will be cut up and used to make a
flapper dress. Please send in a big pair of suit pants for the boys....for a "Zoot Suit" costume. You can get these at
yard sales and/or thrift stores. Our themes is the ROARING TWENTIES.
Due dates for Celebrate America:
(They will have class time the next 3 weeks but should do the majority of the work at home.
1. Rough/rough draft 10/17.
2. Rough draft-corrected and in by 10/24
3. Final copy of paper on 10/29.
4. Posterboard-pictures and supplies to class by 10/20, completed by 10/27.
4. Presentation -3 minutes in costume- 10/30.
Accelerated Reader
Students should be reading at home. I recommend 15-30 minutes Monday-Thursday. Students should take at
least one AR test each quarter. Our class novel is the Island of the Blue Dolphin,which does not count as AR
requirement.
Missions reminder: Offering for Cambodia on Friday of every week.
Dolphin Quest November 14th, need at least 3 parents to drive and help supervise. Please send in transportation
form if you think you might drive.
GEMS: November 21st, girls only, need 2-3 parents to go and to supervise. Transportation is provided.
